BPA IS a problem
Months after we first posted here on our blog and told you that we were considering offering BPA free baby bottles and sippy cups, states are moving to get bottle manufacturers to stop using the chemical in bottles.
Although they aren’t sure exactly what the effects of BPA are in individuals, 90% of American’s have this chemical in their bodies. Although the chemical is told to be organic, the fact that such a large amount of the population has the chemical in their bodies is scaring most of us natural moms to quit using products which contain BPA – this means, bottles, sippys and even CANNED FOODS! Industry such as though who can our food use BPA as a liner on the inside of cans of food – so that means using frozen or fresh is the best option as your canned goods may also have traces of BPA in them.
What you can do now:
- Check to make sure the bottles you have are BPA free.
- Check your sippy cups for BPA as well…
- Make the transition to fresh or frozen.
Fan in Babies Room May Lower Risk of SIDS
All Mommies are affraid of SIDS and we have all read the long list of things to do and not to do to help prevent SIDS, but now there is a new report that suggests that putting a fan in your childs room may lower the risk of SIDS by 70%! It is suggested that a build up of harmful gases that the baby consistantly breathes out and rebreathes and which isn’t refreshed with fresh oxygen may be to blame. A fan in a babies room, they say, may help circulate air and keep fresh air moving.
