I know, I know – this blog has not been updated in f.o.r.e.v.e.r!

I have been getting emails asking if I am ok, or what’s going on…so I thought I would give you an update. (It’s going to be long, so bare with me.)

First, 3 weeks ago, my mom went into the hospital. She had been suffering from some stomach pain and inability to eat…so she finally decided she’d had enough – it was time for SOMEONE to tell her WHAT was going on and just simply take the pain away.

A week and a half later (almost), and somewhere around 45 pounds, later – she had surgery. Doctors ended up taking out a 3 inch piece that was between her lower and upper intestines. She was in the hospital a few days more, and was sent home (doing well, and for the first time in WEEKS eating!).

They ended up doing a biopsy of this area, which turned out to be a HIGHLY rare cancer – something the doctors had said was not possible (due to blood tests they had run). She’s seen an oncologist since she has been home and today got the news that the blood they took came back as CANCER FREE! What a HUGE relief for us all. Her oncologist has a call in to a specialist to discuss weather it’s smart to do Chemo or not…but the idea of “exploratory” surgery is now off the table…at least that’s what they told her today! :)

Second, before mom went into the hospital, I decided to take a HUGE leap – as you might have read – I am going back to college – or rather, starting college for the first time – EVER! :) I have started classes and they are going pretty well. (I think anyway.) It’s kinda fun, but VERY overwhelming – soo much to get done, each professor thinking somehow THEY are the only one, not to mention the learning how to “learn” again – and the learning how to balance it all.

Aubrey is doing well NOW, the week before last she decided she was going to hurt her foot (somehow, we still have no idea how exactly). Poor thing, she was on crutches for a while, thankfully it was not broken – but took a good long while to become “back to normal” and she says it’s still giving her fits sometimes. She’s doing well though, which is good! She also got her hair cut – it’s SHORT! She decided to donate it to Locks of Love – like I did a few months ago…and it’s short, cute and sharp. I think she looks younger, but my sister and mom both think it makes her look more mature…EAK – she’s going to be 9 next month, can I handle more mature?
Zachary is doing well too, he had a bit of a hard time with mom being in the hospital – they both did honestly, but he’s enjoying having her home. He’s having a blast at school, though the kid has got his OCD issues. Everything has to be “just so” to make sure his day goes well…if one thing changes he’s not such a happy guy. My sister is even noticing this in him. His speech is also going well, I had an IEP meeting and both his speech therapist and I agree that he’s going to need speech for a while, at least 2-3 more years. Which I am ok with, I mean he’s him and I love him to pieces.

We are all very much looking forward to summer; got some vacations coming up and well the weather can’t be beat! Today it was around 65 and PERFECT…we had such fun getting out there on the bikes, and Zachary’s little jeep (Santa and Grandpa teamed up for that BIG present.)

The last big news on the home front – I am trying to sell All Natural Mommies. I know right, I bet you never thought you would hear me say that…but with everything going on, I just cant devote as much time to it as I want to, and with the kids getting older, me being single (and not ready to have another little one running around any time soon) it makes sense. I hope to find someone to take over, after nearly 4 years of work, I don’t want to just “stop” but might have to if I don’t find someone. I can’t do it all anymore…KWIM? – So if you know of anyone please send them my way ok?

I hope to open another blog after I sell ANM’s to keep you all updated on me, as well as show off my photography (something I am studding) as well as possibly use it in my next endeavor as a Photographer, Web Designer and Graphic Designer. (BTW if you want to check out some of my recent photography, check out my FLICKR.)

So that’s what’s up with me in a little nut shell – I miss you, and hope to start posting more, but don’t want to clutter too much with “personal” stuff! 
